Electriq Power has improved the features of its PowerPod home battery system, including:
AC coupled stacking: This enables an AC coupled stacked system to accommodate up to 26 kWAC PV with microinverters in a home system. The PowerPod offers an emergency power supply for up to 20 kW continuous load during a power failure and thus offers complete protection for almost every house.
Retrofitting plus new solar: It is now possible to retrofit any existing AC-coupled PV system with the PowerPod and add new solar systems to the same inverter.
Not exported: The improved PowerPod now fulfills the non-export requirements for use in areas where excess PV power cannot be fed back into the grid.
Fleet Management: Along with these customer-centric developments, Electriq Power has updated the PowerPod software to streamline operation and maintenance for installers. With the fleet management update, installers can use Electriq's PowerTools login to view all customer locations in real time.
"A clean, reliable and resilient energy supply in the home is more important than ever," said Frank Magnotti, CEO of Electriq Power. "We pride ourselves on the hard work and perseverance of our engineering team to keep perfecting our PowerPod system and we look forward to sharing these new features with our customers and installers."
The Electriq PowerPod system includes a battery, a hybrid battery / solar inverter, a home energy management system and an energy meter. The PowerPod system offers backup power as well as smart home energy software called Electriq View to manage power usage and optimize efficiency. The PowerPod is modular and expandable and offers installers and homeowners flexibility in system design with up to 20 kW of power and 102 kWh of battery storage.
